Dear Parkview Families,
Parkview PTSA would like to welcome all of our new and returning families to the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. This year we are excited to be returning to school in a more normal fashion! Research shows that students benefit from a strong school environment, with engaged teachers and involved parents. This leads to higher grades, improved test scores and increased attendance. Last school year, the PTSA worked hard to support our school community. Despite the hardships of the pandemic, we were able to reach out to community families through our Cares Team, gift teachers grants with the leadership of our Grant Committee, and even continue the traditions of Reflections and Baccalaureate. This year, we are excited to add a Student Advisory Committee to help with our initiatives. Look for more information to come about how students and community members can become more involved in the Parkview PTSA.
What we have been up to...The Parkview PTSA was hard at work in the 2020-2021 school year. Our organization is made up of parent, teacher and student volunteers that do their best to support the Parkview High School community. Even though only half of the students were attending in person last year, the Parkview teachers and staff were all present in the building, splitting their time between Zoom sessions and in class students. Our PTSA decided to give a little extra to the teachers and staff by holding Snack Attacks throughout the year to add a little brightness to their day and showing them how much we appreciated their hard work.
Our PTSA Cares Team had a busy year helping to support our school families that may have been struggling. They even were able to help families with holiday gifts during the month of December through fundraising! We are so grateful for the support of our school community for helping with these important initiatives.Did you know that the Parkview PTSA gives classroom grants to teachers? We were thrilled to help multiple teachers this year who applied for grants to fund classroom supplies and clubs they sponsor. We love to see how the support of PTSA membership goes into the classrooms, directly benefiting the students and teachers needs. Ms. Baug

It is held the Sunday before Graduation and is a formal event filled with speakers that include peers, teachers and inspirational members of the community. Graduates also get to enjoy musical performances from fellow classmates. Usually this event is attended by friends and family, but this year our committee working alongside student organizations made the decision to allow only participating students to the event and it was broadcast on Facebook Live for friends and family to enjoy. The PTSA always enjoys being a special part of the graduating class's big week!
